Vernon Azzaro passed away peacefully on November 25, 2020 at the age of 95. Vernon was born September 6, 1925 to John and Anita Azzaro, founders of San Francisco Floral, a 107 year old business that still operates today.
A lifetime resident of Fresno, Vernon was an avid golfer and member of Sunnyside Country Club for over 60 years. He was also a longtime member of the Fresno Rotary Club.
Vernon was a fountain of information on the history of Fresno and its people. If you had a question of who built this building or who owned that business, Vernon would have the answer. He loved talking about the "Good Old Days". Vernon had an affinity for fine jewelry and automobiles. Vernon was most proud of the family business and the longevity that it has in the community.
Living his final eight years at The Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens, Vernon could often be seen riding his scooter with fresh flowers to take to a resident in need of some cheering up. On the golf course and in business he made countless life long friends.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents John and Anita Azzaro and his brother Bob Azzaro.
Vernon is survived by his sister-in-law, DeDe Azzaro; Nieces and Nephews, Vince and Tina Azzaro and family, Mike and Aimee Moore and family, Andy and Linda Azzaro and family and Noelle Azzaro and family.
The family would like to thank The Terraces at San Joaquin Gardens, Lenity Solutions and Hinds Hospice for their compassionate care.
Due to Covid, private family services will be held.
