Vicenta "Vicky" (Abalos) Monzon

Vicenta “ Vicky” Monzon, 75, of Fresno, California, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2022

after 15 years of battle with multiple myeloma. Vicky was born on July 19, 1946 to

Ernesto and Veneranda Abalos in Anonang Mayor, Caoayan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines.

She is pre-deceased by her husband of 54 years, Ernest Monzon, who recently died

on January 10, 2022.

Vicky is survived by her only daughter Maria Liza Monzon-Kong, son-in-law Sherman

Kong, and granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Kong. She also left behind sisters

Eleuteria “Ellie” Monzon, Virginia Abalos, Elsa Sanchez (spouse Gilbert Sanchez), and

Nena Partain (fiancé Deryl Bear); brothers Frank Abalos (spouse Esperanza) and

Victor; niece Jerolyn Fry (spouse Scott Fry and children Jacob & Elliot Fry); nephews

Garrett Partain (spouse Morgan Partain) and Michael Abalos (children Ernesto & Jeffry

Abalos); cousins Cathy Paguio (spouse Rufino Paguio and family) and Cecile Tatum

(spouse Doug Tatum); and many other family members in the Philippines, Canada,

and other parts of the world.

Vicky enjoyed cooking, dancing, singing karaoke, watching animated movies/shows,

sewing, and just being with her family. Vicky may have had some struggles, but lived

life to the fullest. She loved her family very much. She would do anything for her

loved ones, especially for her daughter and granddaughter. Everyone who knew her

will always remember her for her generous heart and her great talent for cooking.

Our family is grateful to know that Vicky is finally at peace.

A visitation for Vicenta will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst Sullivan Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.

A rosary service will occur Monday, July 18, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 836 E. Nees Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.

A funeral service will occur Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Victory, 2838 N West Ave, Fresno, CA 93705.

A graveside service will occur Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at ST. Peters Cemetery, 264 N. Blythe Ave., Fresno, CA 93706.
