OMG I am so shocked to hear if this. Wayne and I were friends when he worked at the radio station outside of Kerman and managed the apartments. So sorry for the loss.

To the Brown family: My deepest condolences to your family. I’m heartbroken.  Wayne was one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Wayne and I became good friends out of high school even though I had known of him for years. We used to live in the same apartment complex. He was such a great friend to me. We would visit each other, take drives,  or talk on the phone for hours. I loved hearing his voice. So calming. I’ll never forget it. Some things I’ll never forget about him, and will always remind me of him:  INXS, Pendleton shirts, his voice, his kindness, his respectfulness, Chris Cornell- Nothing Compares 2U. You will be forever missed my friend. <3 

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.  We have so many memories of Wayne, especially him and Scott (Powell) as young men.  It is hard to lose a son and a youngest sibling, but we know that God has a plan and that He keeps us strong.  We are sorry that we cannot make it to his funeral, but Bob and I are babysitting our 2 great grandkids while our granddaughter recovers from delivering a new baby.

Wayne Brown......There are certain people and memories that stay in our hearts forever!  I was a freshman cheerleader, he was the varsity quarterback....we were in Algebra class together....and all we did was pass notes back and forth, everyday....I don't think either of us actually passed the class, but the teacher moved us along anyway!!!  He was also an awesome basketball player...so great, we made up a special cheer, just for him with our school colors and his last name.....and it went something like this...."He's red, he's black, he's white, he's brown.......Wayne Brown....clap clap....Wayne Brown"

Mr. Wayne Brown was an amazing teacher and colleague to work with. His smile and heart of gold will forever be felt and remembered.  He will be so missed.  Love and prayers. 

Wayne Brown, a lifelong friend even though there were many years in between our visits. I had lunch with him just a few months, ago. I became Wayne's friend during my sophomore year at Kerman High School in the spring of 1983. We played basketball after school in the gym with Coach Cranford. We were doubles partners on the tennis team. Wayne took me to my first concert at the outdoor theater at Fresno St. in his Mustang. We saw Tom Petty. Every time I hear a Petty song I think of Wayne. Through Wayne and David Bachman I became friends with Marty Bitter, Charley Newman, and Darren Graef. All of these outstanding men became my brothers and they guided me down the right path. I am forever, thankful.

To my brother, Wayne ... you have made a big mark on my life and you will never be forgotten.

And, just like Petty's song, "I got lucky."

Well, as Wayne used to say as a radio DJ, 
"This is Peace Train Wayne with you and the box cars are loaded up and ready to roll!"

He is survived by his parents Nuel and Mary Brown, son Nathaniel Brown,  sisters, Waynette Scott and husband Mike, Donna Brown, Jolene Wofford, and his brother Don Brown and his wife Sylvia.
