He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beatriz, “Bebe”, and his children David and Stephanie, as well as 8 grandchildren, Taylor, Sarah, Emily, Elliott, Connor, Blake, Matthew, and McKenzie. He was also greatly loved by his two brothers Bob and John.
Bill was an Eagle Scout as a young man and a Cal graduate with both a BA and MA in Business Science. He enjoyed studying nature on long hikes with his brother, nephew, and children. He was especially interested in fossils and rocks, as well. He began his career in banking, where he met his beautiful wife while learning Spanish for a business trip. He also explored and furthered his love of space in the aerospace field for over 20 years. His most devoted hobby was studying the night sky. He built multiple telescopes and took great joy in sharing views of the planets and the stars with family and friends. One year, for Stephanie’s 4th grade science project, he devoted himself to finding viewing experiences for her at all hours of the night. They successfully viewed all the planets from their backyard, including the debated dwarf planet, Pluto. This talent took him into the classroom as a teacher in his second career. Bill also loved the Turlock Garden Club, where he was Treasurer for four years. Bill truly was a renaissance Man, finding the math in things, admiring architecture, and the background of everything. He was a peacemaker and appreciated all cultures and people. All who knew him experienced his kindness, appreciation for beauty and excellence, and dedication to his family and friends. Bill truly loved life and will be missed by all.
