It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. William H. Henry. Born to Helen Josephine (Wright) and Harry John Henry, he was known to his friends and family as Bill. A proud lifelong Fresno resident (4th generation), he graduated from Fresno High School and Fresno State University, then attending the University of Physicians and Surgeons in San Francisco and graduating with a degree in dentistry in 1957. Upon graduation, he worked as a dentist in the Navy stationed in the Philippines, before returning to Fresno and setting up his dental practice in Sanger. Highly regarded for his expertise, Bill loved being a dentist and finally retired at age 74.
He met his beautiful wife Loris on a blind date, and they married in Australia. After 57 wonderful years of marriage, Bill is survived by his wife and two daughters Michelle and Suzanne, as well as his niece and nephew Kay Soares and Cal Walter (children of his sister Patricia and brother-in-law Robert who predeceased him), and Angus, Lachlan and Cassandra (children of brother-in-law Neil and wife Margaret).
A kind, warm and generous man, he was laid to rest on August 25, 2025 and will be deeply missed. His love of sailing and fly-fishing, Huntington Lake and Porsches, his consummate role as horse husband and dad, and his enthusiasm and endless volunteer work at three-day equestrian events will be fondly remembered by all his friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, we ask those who want to remember Bill to consider donating in his memory to the Huntington Lake Volunteer Fire Department: www.hlvfd.org
