Barbara J. Patregnani was born on August 22, 1943 in Waterford, NY to Robert and Wanda Kelts Blair. Barbara married Louis Patregnani on April 19, 1966 and together they raised two children, Louise Patregnani of Frisco, Texas and Michael Patregnani (Theresa) of Troy, NY. Barbara is survived by her children, her six grandchildren, Colin, Michael, Gessica, Natalie, Guiliana, Anna, and her two beloved cats, Chloe Marie and Charlie. Barbara’s greatest joys in life were her family, being a wife, mom, and grandmother.
Barbara was retired from St. Mary’s Hospital/Seton. She loved animals and after her retirement she took a part time job at Troy Veterinary Hospital. She always was sharing great stories about her favorite cat Gwendolyn and her friends at the vet hospital.
Barbara lived in the same area all her life and in 2012 made her first move out of New York to live in Texas to be closer to her daughter. She was so excited about this new adventure. She lived with her daughter for six months before moving to Frisco Lakes. In the last three years, she became an active member of “Neighborhood Nine” and enjoyed participating in the various games and activities. She was so proud that she learned how to play Mahjong. She developed a wonderful circle of friends in the Frisco Lakes community.
One of her favorite hobbies was to spend hours planting flowers and playing in her garden. She loved to cook and to shop, especially for jewelry, clothes, and shoes! She enjoyed her quiet time to putter in her house and to read. She could easily spend hours scrapbooking with her friends, going out to eat, or playing cards. Barbara loved creating new fun memories with her family and friends. She created beautiful scrapbooks showcasing all these wonderful memories.
Barbara touched the lives of so many people with her feisty spirit and wry, witty sense of humor. She was fiercely independent and a fun loving good friend. She would remind us to always look for the humor in life!
We are grateful for the time we had with her and cherish the memory of her always.
