Brian Wayne Dodd was born to Lonnie and Debra Dodd on July 7, 1983, in Deer Park, Texas. He was quiet and extremely shy as a child, and had an imaginary friend named Buggie, who went everywhere with him. Growing up, Brian loved playing all sports, but ultimately chose baseball in high school. More importantly, if you asked him, HE WAS GOOD AT EVERYTHING. In 2001, he graduated from Deer Park High School and went on to Texas State University where he graduated in May of 2006 with a degree in Finance. Brian would want to emphasize to everyone that though he went to Texas State, he did get accepted into The University of Texas, but just wanted a smaller campus. He joined Sigma Nu Fraternity, and made many lifelong friends. He was nicknamed BDodd and D-O-Double D.
Brian’s most recent position was as an AVP at Mr. Cooper, formerly Nation Star Mortgage, where he worked for 11 years. On January 22, 2011, he married Christen Quinters in New Orleans, Louisiana. They were married for 8 years, and have two beautiful children, Camryn (5), and Conner (3). He was an amazing father and loved being “the fun one”. Whatever made them happy, made him happy. Brian rarely missed swim classes, gymnastics, dance recitals, and loved coaching Conner’s tee ball team. He loved baseball and watching Conner play the game. He will forever have front row seats to all their activities.
Brian was also very fond of everything University of Texas, especially football. He would have been so happy that the last Texas game he watched was a win for his team, over an SEC school. Brian loved all things Louisiana; the festivals, the food, the drinks, and even loved the LSU Tigers. One of Brian’s favorite places to be was the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival. If you knew him, you’ve likely heard about it and all of its glory, and maybe even seen pictures. He also loved family trips to the beach. He was truly at his happiest when he was with family and friends, no matter the location. If you were fortunate enough to know Brian well, you knew he was a very passionate and stubborn person. He will be remembered as a wonderful dad, husband, friend, coworker, and coach. He will be truly missed by many.
Brian is preceded by his grandfather, Noah David Dodd of Giddings, TX.
He is survived by his wife, Christen Quinters Dodd; children, Camryn and Conner; parents, Lonnie and Debora Dodd of Deer Park Texas; brother, William Thomas and wife, Tonia and niece Tai; as well as a host of family and friends.
