

Carl Hayden Nevils age 77 of Little Elm, Texas passed away peacefully on December 23, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Adelia Nevils, his sister Paula Monson and Grandson Andrew Nevils. He is survived by his wife, Joanne; his children, Chad(Jamie) Nevils and Leah Nevils; grandchildren Christian(Ashley) and Jaden; siblings, Rosemary, Stuart, Sidney, and Timothy.
Carl was born on June 15, 1944 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He grew up in the area, graduated from Minneapolis Central High School and continued his education at the University of Minnesota. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Winona State University eventually receiving his Master’s in Elementary Education from St. Cloud State University. Carl was a beloved elementary teacher for 39 years in Independent School District 728 Elk River Minnesota. He had a passion for teaching as well as learning. After retirement he enrolled in the University of North Texas to study philosophy.
During Carl’s life he developed a love for adventure. He enjoyed winter activities such as skiing and snowmobiling. In the summer Carl loved driving and pampering many of the motorcycles, sports cars, powerboats and sailboats he acquired over the years. Carl also had fondness for horses enjoying trail riding and weekend horse camping trips with friends. In his later years Carl volunteered his time in prison ministry, summer lunch programs, eucharistic ministry, and serving as a marriage preparatory counselor for young couples entering into the commitment of marriage.
Services will be held on January 17, 2022 at 1:00pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, TX.
