Clinton was a devoted partner, father, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by the love of his life, Angela Caullboy; his son, Clinton Greg Hooker, Jr. (Cass); his brother, Brian Townsend; and his father, Eddy Hooker (Lois), along with many dear friends and colleagues who were blessed to know him. He was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Chase.
Clinton spent most of his early years in Kennedale, Texas, where he attended elementary and junior high school. It was there that his love for sports began to take root. He enjoyed coaching, defending, and toughening up his younger brother, Brian—a role he embraced with enthusiasm. During these formative years, Clinton also discovered his remarkable, God-given artistic talent, as well as a quick wit and sense of humor that would remain hallmarks of his personality throughout his life.
When the family later moved to Brackettville, Texas, Clinton traded his Wildcat helmet for that of a Tiger. His athletic ability and determination quickly stood out as he became a multi-sport varsity letterman during each of his three years at Brackett High. But if you asked Clinton, he’d say the greatest lessons he learned there weren’t from sports, but from friendship—what it meant to be loyal, dependable, and true. Those lessons shaped the faithful friend and man he became. It was also during this time that his devotion to God and country deepened.
After high school, Clinton proudly served his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he built an impressive 25-year career in the cable industry across California, Hawaii, and Texas. Through hard work, determination, and natural leadership, he rose from technician to supervisor to manager and director. He was widely respected as a mentor and leader, someone others looked up to for guidance, strength, and wisdom.
Clinton loved God, his country, and the great state of Texas. He had a brilliant analytical mind and could figure out just about anything he set his mind to. Intelligent, loving, and endlessly curious, he had a passion for fitness, Apple products, and the latest gadgets to track every possible metric. His knowledge of sports was legendary—NASCAR, football, baseball, hockey, golf—you name it. Many joked he had so much sports trivia stored in his head that he should have been a broadcaster.
After settling in Celina with Angela in their forever home, Clinton found joy in the simple pleasures of home. He loved listening to music, spending time at the pool and BBQing. His specialties included steak, ribs, brisket, and his famous smoked Thanksgiving turkey—meals that brought family and friends together. He adored his dogs, Gunner and his “baby girl,” Gertie, who was always by his side and brought him immense happiness.
Clinton will be remembered for his leadership, his sharp mind, his loyalty, his deep love for family and friends, and the warmth and laughter he brought into every room. His legacy lives on in the lives he mentored, the family he cherished, and the countless memories created around music, sports, and a backyard barbecue.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Clinton's life was be held, Monday, March 2, 2026 at 1pm, with visitation starting at 12pm.
