Derrell Dewayne Ashlock, age 85, of Frisco, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born in Wichita Falls, TX on March 13, 1940, Derrell was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Elizabeth Ashlock; sisters, Brenda Fleming and Wanda Kiger; children, Larry Don Ashlock, and Sharion Ashlock-Marotta; grandchildren, Misty Trevino, David Montgomery, Laci Combs, Garret Ashlock, Derrell J. Ashlock, Joshua Ashlock, Brandi Davis, Keesha Ramirez, Michael McCoy, and Anthony & Sophia Marotta, and an assortment of great grandchildren. Derrell was preceded in death by his daughters, Shonda Ann Whitcomb and Shirley “Lynnie” Ashlock, and his brothers Jackie Ashlock, Larry Ashlock, and Lavon Adams. Derrell was known for his bawdy sense of humor, his stoic work ethic, and his zest for life and was passionate about his family, dogs, stock car racing, the Dallas Cowboys, and being a jack-of-all trades.
Derrell’s Celebration of Life will be held at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, TX on Saturday, April 26th at 2pm.
