Frederick Lee Yarbrough was born to Elizabeth Williams and Frederick Lee Yarbrough on April 2, 1939. The first of 3 children, he was born in San Antonio but as a child the family moved to University Park in Dallas. His grandmother said that he was a quiet, sweet and extremely smart child. Fred was very patriotic, intelligent, could fix anything and he enjoyed helping others and giving advice. His nicknames were "Grump" and "Bro".
Fred graduated from Highland Park High School in 1958 and received his Bachelors and Masters in Business from California Coast University. He was a Pilot for Eastern Airlines for 21 years and took great pride in being a Captain. He served in the Texas Air National Guard and the United States Air Force Reserves as an aircraft mechanic. In his retirement, he was a consultant for the Stonebriar Park Homeowners Association and loved working with the residents of that community.
Fred’s passions were planes, cars and golf. He loved restoring classic cars and playing golf with friends and family. He loved to be in the cockpit of an airplane, on the golf course, and vacationing in Kauai.
Judy and Fred were married for 50 years. They have two children and four grandchildren.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Elizabeth Yarbrough.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Martha Yarbrough of Frisco, TX; Sister Judith Caldwell of North Richland Hills, TX; Brother Charles Steven Yarbrough of Pittsburg, TX; Son Jeffry “JR” Raymond Yarbrough and his wife Sarah of Frisco, TX; Daughter Caron Anne Yarbrough of Denison, TX; Grandchildren Allyson Yarbrough, Asher Yarbrough, Avery Yarbrough and Campbell Yarbrough.
