Guy Douglas Allert went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2023. He bravely fought a battle with Kidney Cancer for twenty-two months. Guy is survived by his wife, Christina Allert of 35 years and his fur babies, Buddy and Pepper Allert. He was a beloved husband, son, brother-in-law, cousin, uncle, co-worker and friend.
Born May 22, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois; the son of Betty Allert, Guy spent most of his childhood with his grandfather in Florida where he developed a love for the water.
In his early life, Guy did not have much in the way of material possessions. However, he had a work ethic that served to distinguish his life. He entered the financial industry in 1984 and used that work ethic, along with his financial knowledge and professional experience, to move up the corporate ladder to become a Financial Advisor and eventually Vice President at McClure Capital. He was co-host of “Common Sense Investing” and in 2009 was featured in Texas Monthly magazine after being named a Five Star Professional for best client satisfaction – an honor that reflects his dedication and devotion to those who rely on him and trust his financial guidance.
He met Christina, his wife, the love of his life, and married her in April of 1988 and this is when their remarkable love story began. They experienced life and traveled the world together, but they always came home to each other and their house on the lake, the water he so loved. Guy was Christina’s best friend, confidant, strength, and the wind beneath her wings.
Guy loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own children and the love he showed them still resonates in their hearts and impacts them to this day. He will always be remembered for his humor, pleasant resounding voice, generosity of spirit, and the way he lifted others up to enjoy life’s gifts and treasures with him. He loved listening to all music, especially jazz, riding his Harley Davidson, love for his country, but above all he loved watching the sunrise and sunset on the water with Christina, Pepper and Buddy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at First United Methodist Church of Richardson. The service will be streamed from the Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Folds of Honor Foundation, Honoring American Heroes.
