John (Im, Sung-Rak) Senior

John (Im, Sung-Rak) Senior, of Melissa, Texas, passed away on February 9, 2014 at the age of 76. He was born in Pyong Yang, Korea to Hyun-Duk and Jung-Hyun Im. John had great pride in being an American citizen and he served his country honorably in the United States Army and Army Reserve before embarking upon his career as a psychiatric technician where he helped others with troubled hearts. He was a man of few words who approached others with compassion and kindness in word and deed. John was a devoted husband, dedicated father and step-father, adored grandfather, and beloved friend. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

John is survived by his wife, Marje Senior; daughter, Julie A. Kotowski and husband, Jim; son, Anthony Im Senior; step-daughter, Trisha N. Box; step-sons, Robert L., Limbaga and wife, Susan, Duncan L. Limbaga and partner, David Fisher; grandchildren, Jordyn, Jarrett, Leslie, Alicia, Melonie, Lucas, and Bennett; brother, Myung-Rak Im; step-brothers, Skip and Philip Senior; niece Anna Leigh Senior and numerous loving family members and friends.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas. A Celebration of John’s Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of John.
