

John Rosswell Karr, Jr., 86, of McKinney, Texas formerly of Bluffton, South Carolina and Cary, North Carolina passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022. He was born February 12, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania the son of the late John Rosswell Karr, Sr. and Mae Ferrington Karr.
John was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He worked in the computer industry starting in 1965 and retired from Nortel after many years. He was a licensed amateur radio operator. He met JoAnn in 1992 and shortly after they were married, they spent a wonderful thirty years together.
John enjoyed traveling, woodworking, stained glass work, computers, singing at church, dancing, playing card and dominoes, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
John is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, JoAnn Hoffman Karr, his three children, Todd J. Agnew and his wife Nicole, Scott J. Agnew and his wife Cara, and Maureen A. Thomas and her husband Chris; eight grandchildren, Logan, Rebecca, Connor, Madison, Wyatt, Zane, Alexa, and Stephanie; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Fredrick Karr, Lola Moore, Richard Karr, and Doris McGrath.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Christ Church of Plano, 4550 Legacy Drive in Plano, TX, officiated by The Rev. Jeff Rawn.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Road in Frisco, TX.
John will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway in Dallas, TX on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 10:15 a.m.
