

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joseph Paul Maciejczyk on June 2nd, 2021, following a complication from a recent surgical procedure. Joseph was a loyal and loving father, husband, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Melissa, his daughter Erin of Washington D.C., and his stepdaughter Samantha Salvador. He was predeceased by his beloved son Adam. His brothers and sisters, Dina (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania), John (South Bend, Indiana), Teresa (Centreville, Virginia), and Mary (Dennis, Massachusetts) will all miss his loyalty and infectious sense of humor. Uncle Joseph will be missed by his many nieces and nephews including Meghan and Lauren McDonough, Bill and John Oldach, Olivia (Maciejczyk) and Tyler Cook, Michael, Mary Rose, Catherine, and John Paul Maciejczyk and Adriana Javier.
He was born on December 29th, 1958, in South Charleston, West Virginia as the son of John and Rosa Maciejczyk. He grew up in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, where he was an excellent student and a nationally ranked shot and discus thrower. He was inducted into Bethel Park High School’s Athletic Hall of Fame. Joseph continued his athletic career at LSU as a scholarship athlete where he achieved All-American status as the SEC Champion. His school record in the indoor and outdoor shot put still remains unbeaten to this day at LSU. He was also a gifted student and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from LSU and earned his MBA at the University of Pittsburgh. He enjoyed a busy career as a professional engineer primarily in the Richmond, Virginia area. He relocated to Texas three years ago and embraced Texas as his new home. He was most recently was the Director, Maintenance and Engineering at Tyson Foods. He was a big man with a very big heart. He loved all animals and was involved as a volunteer in animal rescue in Richmond and adopted several rescue dogs throughout his life. He was a jokester, always enjoying a big laugh.
He is deeply loved and will be incredibly missed, and his legacy will live on forever.
Those who would like to honor Joseph and show their support to his family may join them and the Pastoral Care Ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church in the funeral service which will be held at 3:00 - 5:30 p.m., Monday, June 7th, 2021 at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75033. A reception will follow the service.
