August 15, 1946 – July 13, 2025
Leslie Virginia Fleming, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025, in Plano, Texas, at the age of 78.
Born on August 15, 1946, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Virginia Chapman and Arthur Parker, Leslie lived a rich and vibrant life shaped by her deep curiosity for the world, an abiding love of family, and her unwavering devotion to those she loved—both human and canine.
A lifelong homemaker, Leslie created a warm and welcoming home that followed her across the globe. As a proud military wife, she lived in Spain, Italy, Germany, and throughout the United States, embracing every new place with an open heart and a love for cultural discovery. Her sense of adventure extended well beyond duty stations, taking her on travels throughout Europe and Canada, and even as far as Hong Kong, China—her most exotic and cherished journey.
Leslie found joy in the simple pleasures: the pages of a good book, the delight of a new dish, and the magic of the theater. A passionate fan of The Phantom of the Opera, she saw the production four times around the world, including an unforgettable performance in London.
Dogs were never far from Leslie’s side. From her first beloved toy poodle, Angel, to her loyal Bichon Frise, Shorty, her life was filled with the joyful companionship of furry friends. Her compassion for animals was deep and enduring, reflected in her long-time support of Operation Kindness, a no-kill shelter dear to her heart.
Leslie was preceded in death by her parents and her half-brother, Jack Parker. She is survived by her loving husband, Virgil Fleming, her devoted daughter, Virginia Tirey and son-in-law Michael Tirey, and her treasured granddaughter, Sophie Tirey, who brought her immeasurable pride and joy.
A celebration of Leslie’s life will be held on Saturday, July 19th, from 2–4 p.m. at Stonebriar Funeral Home, located at 10375 Preston Rd., Frisco, TX 75033. She will be laid to rest at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, a fitting tribute to her life of service and sacrifice as a dedicated military spouse.
In honor of Leslie’s memory and her love of animals, the family requests that donations be made to Operation Kindness:
