

Linda Ann Navarra, 71, died on July 16, 2016 at the Medical Center of Plano, Texas, with her family at her bedside. Linda was born on July 2, 1945 in Mineola, New York, the only daughter of three children. She grew up on Long Island, NY, with her older brothers, Frank and Dennis.
Family and friends recalled Linda as being kind, generous, unselfish, loving, patriotic, religious and most importantly, family oriented. Her grandchildren affectionately called her “Meme”, a name she cherished. Those who knew her would often find her enjoying her favorite musical artists – Barry Manilow, Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli. Linda was an avid reader and when she wasn’t devouring a favorite novel, you would find her taking long walks or working out in her garden. She found great comfort in her faith supported by her attendance at the Catholic Church.
Linda attended and graduated from Copiague High School in Copiague, NY in 1963. She found her real passion in the field of real estate where she flourished for 35 years. When Linda was not occupied with her business career, she loved going to the ocean and enjoying the beach every chance she had. Those times were even more special when she was surrounded with her family and friends she so loved.
Linda’s true love of her life was her husband, Ignatius Navarra, who she married in 1976. She was blessed with three children and three step-children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mildred Nowicki; her husband, Ignatius Navarra; her step-daughter, Lisa; and her brother, Dennis.
Her legacy is carried on by her children: Mark Decotiis and his wife, Gina of Phoenix, AZ; Maria Doria and her husband, Mark of Prosper, TX; Matthew Navarra of Asheville, NC; Joseph Navarra of Massapequa Park, NY; Peter Navarra of East Rockaway, NY; Frank Nowicki and his wife, Joan of New Jersey; Vita and Scott David of Lake Ariel, PA; Charlotte Mancuso and Frances Navarra of Woodbury, NY; Vita Barci of Ontario, NY; and Al Ragonese of Mount Sinai, NY.
Linda’s real prides of her life were her twelve grandchildren and one great-child that will always remember their wonderful “Meme”.
Linda was loved while here with us and will be continue to be loved through time and all eternity.
