Reggie was born on August 19, 1969, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Willie Mae and Robert L. Colbert. From an early age, he showed a quiet strength, a generous heart, and a deep love for learning and family—qualities that would define his life.
He was a proud graduate of the University of Oklahoma, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 1992. While at OU, Reggie was a dedicated tuba player in the OU Marching Band, combining his love for music with his lifelong loyalty to the Sooners. That pride never faded—OU remained one of his greatest passions.
In April 1993, Reggie began his career with State Farm, where he spent more than three decades building a reputation for integrity, knowledge, and kindness. Much of his career was spent with the “Cat” team, where he not only thrived professionally but also met the love of his life, Remegia. Together, they built a beautiful life and family.
Reggie was a devoted husband and an extraordinary father. The greatest joy of his life was his children: Reece (12), Harmoni (6), Ryly (5), and Zaevion (4). He poured his heart into being present for them—teaching, guiding, fixing, encouraging, and loving them fiercely. They were his pride, his purpose, and his greatest accomplishment.
Anyone who knew Reggie knew his love for three things: OU football, Star Wars, and all things Apple. He also found peace working on the family farm in Oklahoma and had a gift for fixing just about anything Remegia put in front of him. His passion for helping others extended beyond his work; he was deeply committed to training and mentoring, always eager to lift others up. Outside of work, Reggie and Remegia opened their hearts and home by fostering children in need and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
Reggie was preceded in death by his grandfather, Curtis Goodson; his father, Robert L. Colbert; and his nephew, Joey Colbert.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Remegia Colbert; his children, Reece, Harmoni, Ryly, and Zaevion; his mother, Willie Mae Colbert; his brother and sister-in-law, Randal and Tara Colbert; his sisters, Renae Thompson-Washington and Sherry Plummer; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his generosity and love.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033, on January 17, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.
Reggie’s legacy lives on in the lives he shaped, the family he loved, and the countless hearts he helped along the way.
