Renate Schnitger

Renate was born September 30, 1939 to her loving parents Gretchen (Geerken) and Friedrich Wilhelm Baumgart in Bremen, Germany. She met, and fell in love with, her husband Karl in Bremen. They were married and immigrated to the US, moving to Queens, New York. This would turn out to be just one of their many travels together. Their son Christian was born in Queens in 1968 and they would eventually move to Houston, Texas where their daughter Bianca was born in 1971. In 1983 they would take their biggest adventure moving to Singapore. This led to future adventures in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Renate had a love for traveling and she and Karl took everyone opportunity to do so, having seen much of the world together. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother to her two grandsons. Family meant the world to her and we will miss her love and support terribly.

Renate is survived by her husband Karl-Heinz, her son Christian Schnitger, her daughter Bianca (Schnitger) Cathey, her son-in-law Carter Cathey and two grandsons, Aidan and Parker.

A Celebration of Life memorial service for Renate will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033.
