

A Christian, was born November 4, 1928 in Nashville, Arkansas to A.P. Glasgow and Faye McInturff Glasgow and went to be with his Lord Jesus on April 9, 2014 at his home in Frisco, Texas. He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Kate Rogers Glasgow, and their son, Vernon Glasgow II (Tee) and wife Nikki, all of Frisco, Texas. Vernon is also survived by sons, James Glasgow of Greenville, South Carolina, John Glasgow of Texarkana, Arkansas; a daughter, Mary Walraven of Texarkana, Arkansas; brother, Frank Glasgow of Alexander, Arkansas; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. His proudest achievement was serving his country during World War II, and he wore his "Underage Veteran" cap more often than not. After Vernon was honorably discharged from the Navy, he joined the Dallas Police Department. During his 18 years with the department, he worked as a patrolman and an investigator. Vernon was a Master Mason and was granted Endowed Membership by the Scottish Rite in honor of his membership of over 50 years. He also belonged to the Hella Temple in Dallas, Texas. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Stonebriar Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at 11 am also at Stonebriar Funeral Home with interment to follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2:15 pm.
