

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church with Reverend Jerome Fasano as celebrant. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Jackson was born in Warren County on September 11, 1918 a son of the late Bernard and Viola Robinson Jackson. He enlisted in the Navy in December 1941 and served until November 1945. He was proud of his military service. He served as the Post Commander of the American Legion Post 174 in Front Royal for 9 years. He retired from Avtex Fibers as a foreman. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 70 years, Rosina Jackson; his son, Bernard Jerome Jackson and wife Sharon of Dayton, MD; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Jackson, Jr.; his brother, Ambrose Jackson; and his sister, Virginia Parker.
Pallbearers will be Seth Jackson, Paul Smith, Dennis Smith, Larry Gaskins, Gordon Gaskins, Eugene Jackson and Jonathan Jackson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Turner-Robertshaw Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Alzheimer’s Disease Association, 11240 Waples Mill Road, Suite 402, Fairfax, VA 22031.
