Jordyn Da'yana Hammonds

Jordyn Da’yana Hammonds, age 18 months, of Front Royal, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Children’s Hospital in Washington, DC after a long battle with Pulmonary Vein Stenosis and Pulmonary Hypertension.

A homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Front Royal with Reverend Harold Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.

Jordyn was born in Harrisonburg on July 30, 2012, a daughter of Davaughn and Arielle Jordan Hammonds. She was an inspiration to people worldwide. She had 7000 followers on her Facebook page from around the world. She woke up everyday happy and smiling. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.

In addition to her parents she is survived by her maternal grandmother, Bettie Cooper of Front Royal; her maternal grandfather, Michael Jordan of Front Royal; her maternal great-grand mother, Pearl Jordan; her maternal great-grandmother, Lillie Willis; her paternal grandmother, Thalia Hammonds of Elizabethtown, NC; her paternal grandfather, Kevin Hammonds of Elizabethtown, NC; her uncles, Adrion Thomas, Kevin Hammonds, Jr., Garrett Thomas, Mike Jordan, Jr., Jamal Rhodie (Tiffany) and Raymond Jordan; her aunts, Stephanie Smith, A’Brea Hammonds, and Alliyah Hammonds; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles and other relatives.
