

Burton Charles Bishop, surrounded by family, died on March 29, 2011 and went into the arms of the Lord. He died of pneumonia. He was born in Ogden Utah on August 9, 1931 to Grant and Florence Bishop. As a young man, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp, stationed out of San Diego, CA. He met his future wife, Joyce Simpson in the year 1960. They married on April 28, 1961. His first born was Duane Charles on September 30, 1961. The next child was LaRae Joyce on September 19, 1963. The third child born was Roy Grant on December 26, 1967. Bert will be remembered as a man who put his family first. He was honest and hard-working. He was a man who had a rough way of raising his 3 kids, but they knew he loved them. Some of Bert's greatest pleasures were special times spent with family camping and fishing up in the mountains and the annual family trip on Easter to the mountains come nice weather or snow for a picnic and egg hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joyce Bishop of Fort Collins; children, Duane (Val) Bishop of Fort Collins, Roy Bishop of Fort Collins, and LaRae (Joseph) Beeler of Wellington; grandchildren, Anna Bishop of Tuscaloosa, AL, Christopher Bishop of Fort Collins, Brandon Scherschligt of Wellington, TJ Scherschligt of Fort Collins, Harley Bishop of Fort Collins, Chad Karns of Wellington, and Austin Bishop of Fort Collins; a great-grandchild, Breanne Templeton; and siblings, Verna Lee, LaRue Dreiling, Darlene Tucker, Gary Bishop and Ernie Bishop.Visitation will be held 12 â?? 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
