Cleve grew up in Escanaba graduating from high school in 1952. He attended Northern
Michigan University, spent two years in the US Army, mostly in Korea and graduated from Augsburg College, Minneapolis, Minnesota. In 1961, he married Nancy Lechner. They resided in Minneapolis where Cleve began a 28 year career with General Motors in various capacities on the district and zone levels. Two children were born to them in Minneapolis, Greg and Barb. In 1971, they moved to Naperville, IL and in 1990 to Fort Collins, CO.
Cleve was involved in Boy Scouts for approximately 45 years and Lions Club in Naperville and Fort Collins. He held various church positions over the years.
He is survived by wife, Nancy; son, Greg and wife, Chenchen; daughter Barbara Deigert and husband, Chris; three grandchildren, Joshua, Caleb, and Luke; sister, Karen Cain of Frederick, Colorado; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
A private graveside service held. Donations may be made to Peace with Christ Lutheran Church, the Alzheimer's Association, or Pathways Hospice.
