He grew up with his two siblings Dave and Doris. Don served in the Navy, and afterwards he attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he met his future wife, Millie. He started work in the Data Center field as a field technician for SDS and later worked for Xerox. In 1974, Don went back to Pennsylvania to help his father, A.J., run the family business Raymond Art and Plate Glass for 5 years. He then moved the whole family to California to continue working in the Data Center field for various Data Center Power companies. In 1984 he went into business with his son Don and his daughter-in-law’s, sister’s husband Roy and formed Raymond and Lae Engineering (dba RLE Technologies) where he served as President. In 1992 he and the company moved to Fort Collins Colorado where he helped grow the company until retiring in 2008.
Don professed his life to Christ at an early age. He grew up in the Methodist Church and was a member of several other church families with each move. He loved to serve whether it was singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, greeting, helping to count offering after the service or creating beautiful stained-glass windows. He always believed in giving people second chances and grace.
Don also served in the community through Kiwanis, Habitat for Humanity, the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce and volunteering to tutor through local schools.
Don loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. He will always be remembered for his bad “dad” jokes, and one- liners, and the groans from an audience when giving one of his favorites like the Three-Legged Chicken and Three-legged Pig jokes.
Mildred “Millie” R. Raymond, age 86 of Fort Collins, Colorado passed away on October 2, 2025. Millie was born in 1938 in Pennsylvania to Martin and Margaret. Millie grew along with her twin sister Emmie and older sister Peggy, grew up in the Methodist Church where her father was a pastor. She attended college at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she met her future husband, Don. She raised three children as a stay-at-home mom.
Millie professed her life to Christ at an early age. She was raised in a strong Christian family with a long history of ministers that can be traced back as far as the 1700’s. She loved to serve whether it was singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, making cookies and baked goods, and greeting.
Millie, also known as Miss Millie, loved children. She had an in-home daycare for several years in California, then went back to school to get her AA Degree in Child Development. After she moved to Colorado, she taught at the CUMC preschool. She often said that it was easier for her to relate to children than to adults.
Don and Millie met at Indiana University of Pennsylvania and were married in 1960. Both Don and Millie were strong Christians. They were active members of several church families as they moved across the country. They had three children Don, Dan and Chuck. Chuck died at the age of 6. They are survived by Millie’s sister Emmie(Maury), their sons Don (Mary Jo) and Dan (Dana), six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. They will be greatly missed during our remaining time here on earth, but we know we will see them again in eternity.
1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.
