One of seven children, Don was born and raised in LaPorte, Indiana by George and Laura Knoll.
On August 6, 1955, Don married Juanita Florer, and they raised two children, Kevin and Rita. They moved to Fort Collins in 1970.
Don briefly worked in the dairy industry, as an insurance agent, and then settled into construction for the remainder of his work life. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Stillwell, Indiana. He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict era.
Don is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, his parents, sisters Dorothy Miller and Jean DeLano, and brothers Gerald and Melvin. He is survived by his children, Kevin (Juey Ann MacLeod) and Rita Knoll (Donald Moyer), sister Diane Jerndt (Mark) and brother Dave (Linda). He also leaves behind his extended family/friends at Chili’s and the Breakfast Club, his two favorite places to hang out.
A celebration of life will be held at Chili’s, 3524 South College, on Monday, November 5, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
