Liz was born at home on February 22, 1931, in Garber, OK to Smoote and Lena Crosnoe. Liz grew up in Stillwater and Gould OK and graduated from high school in Gould in 1949. She attended Oklahoma A&M College (now Oklahoma State Univ.) and graduated with a B.S. in Home Economics in 1953. After
graduation, she worked as an extension agent in Stephens County Oklahoma. She married Donald Willson in 1956 and they moved to Richardson, TX where they lived for 37 years. In Richardson she taught kindergarten and was a homemaker. In 2000 Liz and Don moved to Fort Collins.
She enjoyed neighborhood gatherings, travel, outings with the Fort Collins Senior Center, reading and genealogy. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, DAR and Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; and her sister, Louise Bellatti. She is survived by her son, Bryan Willson (Julie) of Fort Collins, CO; and her daughter, Robin Dorer (Jeff) of Pinckney, MI; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother and friend and will be missed for her intellect, love of spontaneous adventures and infectious laugh.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church Chapel, 1005 Stover Street, Fort Collins, CO on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 10:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathways Hospice, 305 Carpenter Road, Fort Collins, CO 80525.
