Born in Covington, Kentucky on January 10, 1941, he was the son of Mary Beatrice (Martin) and Gustavus Jackson White and the brother to Wilma Jean Godsey, all who precede him in death. Raised in Kentucky, he graduated from Newport Catholic High School in 1959 and, at the age of 17, enlisted with the US Navy. Jack was proud to serve his country. Following his honorable discharge, he began a career in Technical Support that spanned more than 50 years, retiring as a Senior Tech Engineer.
On December 5, 1970, Jack married the love of his life, Mary Linda Farley. They wed at the Anna Louise Inn in Cincinnati, Ohio, later relocating to Northern Colorado in 1991. Jack was a good husband and loved Mary dearly. He cherished every moment of their more than 55 years of marriage. Together they built a home and a life full of love and laughter, supporting each other through all the ups and downs life could bring.
Jack was a loving and devoted father to his daughters, Mary, Jaci, and Erin. His daughters were his world and he always put them first. He was so proud of his daughters and supported them in all that he did. He taught his daughters the value of family and of not taking life too seriously. Humor was an ever-present element in the White home. He so loved watching his girls grow to be women and start families of their own. Raising his daughters to be strong, independent, and loyal to their family was his life's greatest accomplishment.
Jack was a good man, through and through. He had a heart for service and was always willing to lend a hand. He was a good judge of character and a loyal friend. Jack was funny and he was fun to be around. In his own words, happy people were his favorite people. Steadfast and honest, he was the kind of man that could be counted on. He left a lasting impact on those he encountered in life and really inspired those around him. His was a life well lived.
When Jack wasn't working, he was probably working on his model railroading. He really loved those little trains and proudly displayed them in his living room. He enjoyed a good round of golf, a game of cards, and a quiet afternoon of reading. He liked watching old movies and listening to doo-wop. Raised as a Methodist, his faith gave him a perspective that transcended this life. Jack was a loyal and active member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 30 years.
Jack will be fondly remembered for his strong character and sharp wit. He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends, and all who knew him.
Jack's legacy will carry on in the lives of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 55 years, Mary Linda White; their daughters, Mary Caroline Glaze (Glenn), Jaci Kaye Schmidt (Michael), and Erin Susan Jordan (Michael); grandchildren Joshua Davis White (Erin Thames), Kacey Nicole Ellerby (Brandon), Mary Ashley Slavik (Billy McChesney), Noah Davis White (Arianna), Mason Louis Jordan, and Mikayla Brooke Jordan; and by his great-grandchildren Sawyer Lane McChesney, Tobias Davis White, and Murphy Davis White; as well as his daughter from a previous marriage, Cindy Swindle.
A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Monday, March 16, 2026 at 1pm at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Fort Collins, after which he will be laid to eternal rest. Military Honors will be rendered in recognition of his service to his country.
