Janet was born in Loveland, Colorado on April 17, 1940 to Orble and Mary (Seader) Lehl. She grew up on a small farm west of Loveland. Everyone was expected to pitch in on the family farm, though Jan always had other interests. She graduated from Loveland High School in 1958 and worked as a waitress at the Hiway House in Loveland before beginning her career with Hewlett Packard, where she would later retire as a supervisor.
Jan was a proud momma to three boys. She was a loving and supportive mother who would do anything for her children. Jan loved her boys dearly. She was also a wonderful and caring sister, always remaining close with her siblings.
Jan was a kind person. She never knew a stranger and had many good friends. She had a spirited personality and a great sense of humor. She loved a good laugh. She enjoyed bowling and sailing. More than anything, Jan loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Chuck Arnstad, Doug Arnstad (Annie), and David Arnstad (Carla); her sisters, Marianne Smith and Leorra Frank (Roy) and brother, Vern Lehl (Alice); grandchildren, T.J. Arnstad (Dayna), Felicia Hernandez (Brian), Steven Arnstad (Katie), Kelsey Wright (Billy), Travis Elijah (Ashli), Amy Collard (Keith), Kristan Bliven (Zachary), Ryan Arnstad (Sarah), Keynan Arnstad, Seth Arnstad, Natasha Bradford (Daniel), and Dustin Arnstad; and 24 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Lehl, and by her husband, Virgil Bennett, who passed away in 2018.
Services will be held privately and Jan will be laid to rest with Virgil at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Fort Collins. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are encouraged to the American Heart Association. Treasured memories of Jan and words of condolence for her family are welcome at resthavencolorado.com.
