Janyce Lee Johanson

Janyce Lee (Zastrocky) Johanson passed into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on September 13, 2024 in her hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado. She was a devoted Christian since coming into relationship with Him during the Jesus Movement in 1972. Janyce brought many along with her on her journey of faith.

Janyce married Stephen Johanson in 1978 and is survived by him and four very loved children- Janelle Devlin (Andrew), Brian Johanson (Acacia), Dan Johanson (Jessi) and Lisa Kottenstette (Kylan). She adored her 13 grandchildren and shared precious time with them all: Everitt, Anja, Kade, Rose, Ella, Karalee, Jace, Lance, Josiah, Gunther, August, Charlee and Bo.

Janyce was the youngest of six children born to Michael and Helen Zastrocky growing up in Thorton. She was preceded in death by parents and sister Karen Byrum. She is survived by siblings Mary Ann Newsom, Mike Zastrocky, Jim Zastrocky and Marlene Vandergeest as well as many nieces and nephews.

Janyce graduated from Thorton’s Meritt Hutton HS in 1973 and remained active keeping the class connected to their 50th reunion. She graduated with a teaching degree from the University of N Colorado in 1977.

Traveling with her husband Steve around the country and internationally, Janyce lived a full life. She regularly hosted missionaries from Macedonia, and served many with her gift of hospitality. She was a wonderful cook, had a great sense of humor and helped so many in need even as she lived with cancer since her diagnosis in early 2020.

A celebration of life will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 5 at Redemption Church, Loveland on Cleveland Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Redemption Church in her name.
