Jeannette Marie Aplin (lovingly known as Grandma Donut) was called home December 4, 2025, after a valiant 4-year battle with congestive heart failure. Jeannette was born November 11, 1941, to Walter and Myrtle Stromberg. The eldest of 1 brother and 2 sisters. After graduating from West Fargo High School, she worked as an administrative assistant. Jeannette married William C. Aplin II (Bill), January 28, 1966. Laporte, Colorado became home in the spring of 1969 where she lived the remainder of her life.
Jeannette loved to serve the Lord. She held the distinction of being the longest living member of Dayspring Christian Church where she touched innumerable lives. Her service included membership in women’s and student ministries. Music and small group ministries. Timeless Treasures and her favorite. Fellowship ministries.
Jeannette also loved serving as a grandma. Teaching, guiding and supporting her grandchildren by including them in her passions any chance she got. Friends and critters welcome. Jeannette was always the “Biggest Fan”, cheering the loudest with donuts in hand!
Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, the love of her life, Bill of 51 years, sisters Corrine and Lynette, granddaughter Elizabeth and great granddaughter Adilade. She is survived by her son Wade Germolus, daughter Michelle Purdy (Scott), granddaughters Ashley (Amon) and Alex, daughter Beth Bean (Dell); grandsons Mitchell (Kayla) and Marcus (Erin). Four stepchildren; Billy, Debi, Barb, Teri and families. Jeannette is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 20, 2025, 2:00pm, at Dayspring Christian Church. 8005 Highland Meadows Pkwy., Ft. Collins, CO 80528.
