

She was born to John and Marie Blunt on June 17th, 1937 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from Colorado Springs High School in 1955, where she met her husband, Don Hammond. They were married on September 1st, 1956. They later divorced but remained good friends.
Together they had three children, Dale, Dawn and Jill. Jeannine was a stay at home mom for many years while her children were young. Jeannine had an endless amount of patience, always provided encouragement, love and support, was wise and kind-hearted and was always there when needed.
After the family moved to Fort Collins in 1973 she worked for Teledyne Water Pik. After her retirement in 2001, she volunteered at the Aspen Club and Volunteers of America and was a member of many social clubs.
Jeannine enjoyed her sports (Broncos, Avalanche, Eagles and Nascar) cooking and entertaining, crocheting, reading, listening to music, collecting all things snowman, taking care of her family and a good laugh. Jeannine sacrificed her needs for her family and will be remembered as a selfless wife and mother. She had a quiet strength and never complained and always had a smile. Jeannine was well loved, had many friends and her heart and home were always open to anyone.
Jeannine was predeceased by her parents, John and Marie. She is survived by her ex-husband, Don Hammond; her children, Dale Hammond, Dawnrenae Hammond, Jill Schaake (Marcus Clinton); grandchildren, Brandi Hammond, Natalie Schaake and Robert Schaake; great-grandchild, Taylor Olson; sister, Janet Collier (George), brothers Donald Blunt (Cathie), David Blunt (Carol); numerous nieces and nephews; and her enormous collection of snowmen.
Cremation has taken place and a family celebration will be planned at a later date this summer.
