Born in Owasso, Michigan on June 21, 1932, June Donna was one of eight children of Gladys (Hasse) and Kenneth Farr. Growing up in a large family was, at times, ordered chaos and the Farr family experienced their fair share of challenges. June Donna’s brother Donald died in his crib as an infant and another brother, Kenneth, in an accident where boys were throwing rocks at each other. June Donna grew up in the suburbs of Flint, Michigan and graduated from Dye High School in Swartz Creek, Michigan.
On October 6, 1951, June Donna married the love of her life, Gordon Donald Lewis. They relocated to Colorado in 1967 and settled in Fort Collins in 1970. They were blessed with four children: Eugene, Ralph, Jeanne, and Ronald. Together, June Donna and Gordon built a life focused on family and service to others. They had celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage at the time of Gordon’s passing in 2018. June Donna was a loving, supportive mother who cared very dearly for her children. When the kids were young, she stayed home to raise them and prepare them for the adventures of life. The kids were regularly tortured with chores and homework before being allowed out to play or go fishing.
After her children were grown, June Donna trained and worked as an EMT. She also volunteered regularly at school and church. She learned to overcome her fear of new hobbies and enjoyed games and puzzles and spending time traveling and vacationing with family. As time went on, she became a talented seamstress, began knitting, crocheting, and quilting and even got into pottery, hand making steins and mugs. She lived a life of service, always lending a hand to help the less fortunate. June Donna was a longtime member of the American Baptist Church and a founding member of Elderhaus. She will be fondly remembered for her kind heart and generous spirit.
June Donna’s legacy of faith and family carries on in the lives of her children Gene Lewis (Nancy Murphy), Ralph Lewis (Susie), Jeanne Lewis-Ruot (Joe), and Ron Lewis (Judy Murphy); grandchildren Michelle (Boyd), Michael (Amber), Casey (Jessica), Andrea (Rylee), Sean (Kriselle), Andrew, and Sammantha; and her great-grandchildren Ashlin, Ivan, Wyatt, Quinn, and Logan. She is also survived by her brothers Keith Farr (Dee) and Charlie Farr (Donna), and her sisters Noreen Farr-Reeves (Bill) and Dorothy Farr-Willoughby (John); as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Along with her husband Gordon, and her brothers Donald and Kenneth, June Donna is preceded in death by her brother Albert Farr and his wife, Anne, and by her daughter-in-law Gerri Lewis.
Services will be held on Monday, July 7th, 2025 at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens in Fort Collins.
