Lena was my cousin and I, too, have only fond memories of her.  She and Alvia always opened their home to us when we visited from Iowa/NE.  I think my brother, Paul, now lives on the farm where she was born.  His son, Ken, told us of her death.

Dear Shirley and Bob and families.  I will always remember the enjoyable times while working with your mom at J M McDonalds -- always fun to be with and a great work ethic; she taught me a lot about being a good retail employee.  Was also glad my dad could help her and Alvia build their home -- enjoyed visiting her after college.  May all your good memories keep her wonderful spirit alive and laughing amongst those who loved and cared for her.

I did not know Lena but I know her granddaughter Robin and have heard of what a strong and loving grandmother she was to her. She will be missed by all who knew her but remember she will be forever near as she lives within your hearts.

She is my Great-Grandma. One of the sweetest women you could ever meet. I dont think I ever heard her express hatred for anyone. I will always remember her saying ""well bless his/her heart"" it will stick with me forever. I saw grandma about an hour before she passed on. she looked peaceful. I try to remember she is better now, she is with Grandpa Alvi and watching over us.She was so strong. A fighter! She had a heart of gold. My 4 boys adore the blankets she crocheted them for their birth. And we all will treasure those forever!We celebrate her life and remember the good times we had. Christmases, birthdays, visits, Birthday Cards. But we greive for the loss of our family Angel. I miss you so much Grandma. I know you are watching over ALL of the family. I love you Grandma.

Robin and family,     I know how very much your grandmother was loved because we have heard so many wonderful things about her and what she meant to you.  May God bless you with wonderful memories and comfort during this difficult time.

Lena was a wonderful woman. She was always smiling. She will be missed dearly.

I will miss Grandma greatly.  She was the rock in the family that taught us all what a family should be made of...  Love. Even though she spanked me instead of reading  me the book, my respect for her is more then anyone else could know.  I miss you, and until we meet again...I love you Grandma. Jason

I remember Lena from when I was a young girl. Dad was related to her Cliff Chandler. We had lunch at her house with Alvie from time to time. I always liked and enjoyed our visits with Lena. Blessings to her family and loved ones.

Lena had such a positive approach to dealing with her health issues toward the end of her life.  She was an inspiration.  It was my pleasure to have a very small part in the last few weeks of her life.  God bless all of you as you celebrate the priceless treasures of Lena's life and the memories she created for you.
