

Marion Ray Phillips, 89, originally from Luray, Kansas, died Monday, December 11, 2017. Visitation will be Friday, 12/15/17 from 10 – 11:45AM followed by a graveside service at noon at Resthaven Funeral Home, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, CO 80525.
Marion Ray Phillips was born September 16, 1928 in Luray, Kansas. He moved to Fort Collins, Colorado at the age of 7. As a child he was passionate about the outdoors and enjoyed endless hours playing outside with his brother, and sisters as well as the family goat and rooster. In later years, he was quick to tell stories about teaching the family goat to push his sled, making the family rooster walk the plank, and getting sprayed by a skunk. He graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1946.
Marion served in the Colorado Army National Guard from 1948 to 1970. He worked as an electrician at Colorado State University from 1955 until his retirement in 1985.
Marion married Anne Evans in 1962. He was a loving father and husband. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseback riding. After retirement, Marion and Anne enjoyed going on cruises and spending time at their cabin in the mountains.
Marion is survived by his three children Ron, Ted, and Laurie, his grandson Alec, his brother Lee, and his sisters Betty, Diana and Ilene. He was preceded in death by his wife Anne and his sister Donna.
He will be greatly missed.
