Marge was born in Marion, Ohio to Bob and Ann Wheeler. She graduated High school from Castlemont High School in 1956 and moved to Fort Collins in 1957 where she met her husband, Ken Crockett. They were married on June 7, 1959, in Fort Collins. Together, Ken and Marge raised three boys: Gary, Ron, and Mike. Marge’s family was her greatest pleasure in life. Attending their sporting events, gathering for meals and special activities gave her immense joy.
Although her number one priority was being a wife and mother, Marge worked at several local businesses throughout her lifetime. She worked at Swanson Photography, Skillman Photography, Fort Collins High School in the language lab and Pat’s Hallmark. Marge’s second greatest pleasure in life was volunteering. Marge volunteered throughout Poudre School District at Moore, Bauder, Harris-Bilingual, and Linton Elementary Schools. Her love of the children she worked with sent her to many of their sporting events. She carried a bag of licorice with her when she went to those events, making the children love her even more. She also volunteered at the Discovery Museum.
Marge will be greatly missed by her surviving family members: husband Ken Crockett of Fort Collins: her sons Gary Crockett of Fort Collins, Ron Crockett (Jennifer Crockett) of Maryland, Mike Crockett (Dianna Crockett) of Wellington: her sisters Bobbie Whitaker and Tooty Trimble, both of California: Her grandchildren Jordan Phillips (Erik Phillips) of Ault, Ryan Crockett of Fort Collins and Lindsey and Sydney Crockett of Maryland. She also has 2 great grandchildren, Colson and Porter Phillips of Ault. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Ann Wheeler and her sister Marion Eldred.
Memorial contributions can be made to Harris-Bilingual care of the Harris PTA. Please include Mrs. C/Mrs. Crockett with your donation.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20th at Timberline Church in Fort Collins.
