Patty was born in St. Louis, MO in 1968 to Dennis and Susan Templar. She was an only child. When she was 4-years-old, they moved to the suburbs of Chicago and then to West Bend, WI when she was nine. She attended West Bend West High School and spent one year at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before transferring to Colorado State University to earn a degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Patty went on to get a law degree at Colorado University-Boulder. She began practicing law at Sherman and Howard L.L.C. in Denver before leaving to earn her L.L.M. in Taxation at the University of Denver Law School. Afterwards, she opened the Dow Law Firm, L.L.C. in Fort Collins with Tim Dow, her now former husband with whom she remained good friends and law partners with until her passing.
Patty enjoyed her clients and staff and the relationships she formed with them and their families. Patty loved to travel and visited over 90 countries. Her favorite trips included two African safaris and numerous ocean cruises. She would like to be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who cared for others above everything else.
She is survived by her parents, her ex-husband, close friend, and law partner Tim Dow, her best friends Jeff Fugate and Natalie Longhini, and her beloved dog Yogi.
Our Savior's Lutheran Church will host a private, intimate Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Patty would love for you to instead consider donating to the Church's Endowment Committee.
