Patrick Torrez

Patrick Torrez, 72, of Fort Collins, passed away May 19, 2011.Patrick was born June 11, 1938 in Ovid, Colorado to Ruperta (Hernandez) and Manuel Torrez. He attended school in Ovid and graduated from the Ovid High School. Patrick married Carmen Serrato on November 21, 1959. They moved to Sterling in 1960, where he worked as a plumber, as well as worked for the Sterling Beef Plant and Sterling Lumber. They then relocated to Fort Collins in 1984, where Patrick worked and retired from Colorado State University and Krug Construction. He enjoyed watching the Broncos and Rockies games and he loved vacationing with his family. They often traveled together to South Dakota, Las Vegas, Black Hawk and numerous other places.Patrick is survived by his wife Carmen and four children: Anita Kilgore and husband Tony; Shirley Guerrero and husband Ruben; Patsy Kutchar and husband Jim; Leonard Torrez and wife Lisa; grandchildren: Chris, Krystina, and Jordan Guerrero, Patrick Richardson, Kaela Redfern, Tony Kilgore, Jr., Alana Kilgore and L.J. and Brett Torrez; great grandchildren: Cassie Mancuso, Essence, Angellina, Ciara, Donovan Guerrero, David Hawley, Alexis Kilgore, Blake Cole, and Tristan Richardson. He is also survived by his brothers: Pete (Jackie) Torrez, Sr., Raymond (Grace) Torrez, Manual (Lupe) Torrez, Jr. and sister Elsie Blea, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and various other family members.He was preceded in death by his brother Bill Torrez and his parents, Ruperta and Manuel Torrez.A viewing will begin 9:00am on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home with Rosary at 10:30am. Funeral Services to follow at 11:00am. Interment Resthaven Memory Gardens.
