Richard was born in Parker, Kansas to Lucy and Richard Goodall and was the second of seven children. They remain a raucous and loving bunch to this day.
Richard graduated from Belton High school in Missouri. He played baseball, football, and basketball and often teasingly referred to himself as “Belton’s Best”. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After retuning to the States, he attended Southwest Missouri State.
Richard moved to Boulder, Colorado in the early 1960’s to take his dream job with IBM. He would never leave the State he came to love. Always fiercely independent, he went on to become a Baskin-Robbins franchisee for over 20 years. At one time he owned stores in Cinderella City, Arvada, and Broomfield.
Richard is survived by his wife Marge; sons, Todd (Christina) of GA., Jake (Jackie) of CO., Jeffrey (Vicki) of Calgary, Canada and step-son Andrew Jacobs of CO. He was blessed with 8 Grand-children and 2 Great-grandchildren.
Golf was Richard’s passion. He also loved to fish and camp. He never could turn down an offer of ice cream and loved playing board games with the Grandchildren (though accused of cheating at Clue!) His last 16 years were spent in a wheelchair but he kept “rollin on”. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Centre Ave Health and Rehabilitation for their care, support, and friendship this past year. Memorial contributions can be made to Pathways hospice. They were our rock and a special thanks to Molly.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.
