

Robert (Bob) Krull, age 92 peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of September 17, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones. Bob was born June 20, 1930 in Corsica, S Dakota to George and Dena (VanHeest) Krull. He attended rural schools and graduated from Corsica High School in 1948. During his school years, he played baseball, basketball, football and was in the senior class play.
In 1949, Bob enlisted in the US Navy. After boot camp in San Diego, CA he served aboard the U.S.S. Salisbury Sound AV-13 and the U.S.S. Suisan AVP-53. In 1952, he was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. He was assigned to the Atomic Energy Commission and had additional training at Coronado Amphib Base near San Diego, CA. He served aboard the U.S.S. Oak Hill LSD 7 which was sent to the Marshall Islands for Operation Ivy. Operation Ivy was the largest Hydrogen Explosion and the largest Atomic bomb dropped from an aircraft. Bob was witness to the destruction these would cause. After his discharge from the US Navy, Bob would enlist in the US Air Force in 1954. After boot camp at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas for training on Teletype Maintenance he was assigned to F.E. Warren Air Training Command in Cheyenne, WY. He was stationed in French Morocco at Nouasseur Air Force Base near Casablanca and Ben Guerir Air Force Base near Marrakech until 1956. Upon his return to the F.E. Warren Air Training Command, he became an instructor teaching Electronics and Teletype Maintenance.
Bob married Beverly M. Sievert on November 9, 1956 in Armour, S Dakota. They made their home in Cheyenne, WY where he was stationed. From there, they were stationed at Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico for 2 years. After his discharge in 1960, they moved back to Armour, S Dakota and opened a home improvement store. In 1962, Bob went to work for the Bureau of Reclamation which moved the family to Mitchell, Huron and Watertown, SD. In 1968, the family moved to Loveland, CO which would become their forever home.
Bob retired from the Bureau of Reclamation in 1985 as Communications Supervisor. He was a Consultant for a couple years after retiring and then went to work for Platte River Power Authority as Communications Supervisor. Bob retired from Platte River Authority in 1992. He was an active member of Mountain View Presbyterian Church and served on the Board of Deacons and Session for several years. He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Longs Peak Federal Credit Union. In his free time, Bob loved to golf.
Bob is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and David Graves of Loveland and daughter, Krystal Krull of Aurora; granddaughter, Stacie Graves of Denver; sister-in-law, Linda Johannsen of Wagner, S Dakota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly M. Krull; son, Thomas Robert Krull; parents, George and Dena Krull; and sisters, Caroline Nevins and Gladys Pejsa.
A memorial service for Robert and Beverly will be at Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Loveland, CO on November 9, 2022. This would have been their 66th wedding anniversary. Additional information to follow concerning memorial.
