Rod was a very kind and gentle man.  His family was very important to him. We will miss his smile and laughter. God bless his sweet soul.

My brother, Bobby, and I were very close growing up. I was 1 when he was born and when our Mother told me his name was Rodney, I said Bobby and so to our family and everyone close to the family and his friends he was always Bobby and always will be Bobby to us. We shared everything and he was my best friend. He was the only one I could talk to as he knew me better than anyone. We shared our friends, and in High School we went almost everywhere and did everything together. When we were still in grade school during the summers we were shipped off to Torrington where we would spend time with our Grandparents and our Aunts and Uncles, we got to know most of our Cousins this way. 
It wasn't easy for him in Jr High as sometimes he got some of my teachers the year after me. He got an economics teacher, that I had harrased endlessly. The teacher made a speach saying that if Bob was related to me he would have to find another class, Bob denied knowing me that there was no relation so he could stay in that class. 
There were countless times whenever I needed a sympathetic ear I called him and we talked for hours, I always felt better after talking to him. 
He was a very cute kid and very handsome man, as he looked like my Daddy. All of my friends were always asking me if I could get him to date them, my answer to them was no, I'll keep him to myself. Some of them did manage to land a date, but as usual most of our dates was in a group with our friends.
We sang and danced a lot when we were young, we would sing with Mother, on car trips, and mostly at home. He was great about changing the words to songs one of his favorites:: Mama's Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys, he would always make up a funny version. He loved comedy, and he would have made a great standup comedian. Always with a great joke.
He was a hero to me, we protected each other, being his sister has been a privilege and nobody can ever take that away from me. I loved him as much as a sister can, as I do all of my brothers and sisters, I have a special place in my heart, that belongs only to him.
He has gone on to be with our Mother, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, and we will see him again some day, and we will be together forever. Rest in peace my brother and friend until we are a family together again. Another good song. I love you!!

I spent many lunch hours and after school hours with Rod at the little snack shack Wagner's. I have many fond memories of those times. Sharon was and still is one of my best friends. We lost contact for awhile and have reconnected in the last few years. I am so glad that I got to spend a little time with Rod before he left our world! May he rest in peace!
