

Ruby Anna Sass, 89, of Loveland, Colorado passed away June 23, 2016. Ruby was born on August 21, 1926 to John Fredrick and Adelheid Theresa (Pautsch) in Crawford County, Iowa. She graduated from Denison High School in 1943 and was a country school teacher in Crawford County for three years.
On September 29, 1946 Ruby married Leroy Sass at Zion Lutheran in Denison, Iowa and they farmed in Ida Grove, Iowa. In 1966 Leroy and Ruby purchased and operated the Gold Key Motel and Dining Room in Hampton, Iowa. In 1974 they moved to Loveland, Colorado where they enjoyed their retirement years. Ruby enjoyed activities with her family, the birthday club with her friends, playing cards, reading, and dancing.
Ruby is survived by their children: Kathleen Ruth Naranjo and husband Manuel of Greeley, Joleen Ruby Becvar and husband Michael of Fort Collins, Richard Lee Sass and wife Deb (Campman) of Sheffield, Iowa, and Teresa Louise Jackson and husband Quentin of Loveland; Janet Sass of Hampton, IA; a brother Glen Bielfeldt of Perry, IA; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bielfeldt of Denison, IA and Darlene Auen and husband Ivan of Odebolt, IA; eleven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents John and Adelheid, her husband Leroy, three brothers: Emil and wife Vernette, Johnny Bielfeldt, and Bernhard Bielfeldt, two sisters: Ruth and husband Hans Jess, and Fern and husband Clarence Held, and sister-in-law Phyllis Bielfeldt.
Visitation, Monday June 27 at 9:00 – 10:30 am at Resthaven Funeral Home 8426 S. Hwy 287 Fort Collins followed interment at 10:30 am. A memorial service at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4650 Sunview Drive, Loveland will be held at 11:00 am following interment.
