

Born on January 1st, 1958 in Oklahoma City, Scott was a man of remarkable warmth, integrity, and humor. He dedicated his life to his family, his career, and his community, leaving an unforgettable impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A devoted father and husband, Scott's greatest joy was spending time with his family. He met the love of his life, Patricia (Carter) Thompson, in 1980. They married on July 23rd, 1983, and celebrated their 42nd anniversary in 2025. Scott and Pat raised three children: Matthew, Molly, and Mark. Scott adored being Papa to his grandchildren: Robyn, Ophelia, Juniper, Cole, and Sophie. His capacity for love didn't stop there. Over the years, many others would feel Scott's fatherly guidance, including Lee and Sarah Sargent, Jesse and Jade Carter, and many more.
Scott graduated with a Master's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Denver. He went on to build a meaningful career at Northeastern Junior College, where he served as Department Chair of Liberal Arts and Professor of Psychology. To his colleagues and students, he was a dedicated educator, a patient mentor, and a reliable friend who approached every challenge with a positive attitude.
Beyond his professional achievements, Scott was defined by his passions. An avid sports fan, he found great joy in the outdoors, particularly the mountains of Colorado, where he enjoyed skiing, fishing, camping, and hiking. He loved taking scenic drives over mountain passes and viewing Colorado's famed Aspen trees. At home, he spent many peaceful hours working on puzzles. Above all, Scott was a gifted communicator. Known for his prolific and captivating storytelling, he seamlessly weaved humor and wisdom into narratives that brought people together. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Thompson Jr. and Nan Mosby Thompson. Scott's legacy of love lives on through his surviving family. He is survived by his loving spouse, Patricia; his children and their spouses, Matthew (Sara), Molly (Steve), and Mark C. (Gabby); his brothers. Mark R. and Todd; and his cherished grandchildren, Robyn, Ophelia, Juniper, Cole, and Sophie, who brought immense light to his later years.
