Sharon Antoinette Fessler, 51, of Windsor, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023. Born in Tampa, Florida she was the fifth child of Thomas and Elizabeth Guertin. Sharon graduated from Plant High School in 1990 and New Mexico State University in 2001 with an AA in General Studies. Sharon served over nine years in both active and reserve duty in the United States Air Force. In 1995, she found the life and heart of her forever wingman, Bryon Fessler and the two married on February 28, 1998, in Colonial Williamsburg, where they first met. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 2023. The ensuing years saw their family grow and their zip code change several times. From one child to three and from Alexandria, Virginia to Windsor, Colorado as a landing point.
Everywhere Sharon went in her life, she brightened the way. With an effervescent smile and a generosity of spirit, Sharon touched the lives of each person she met and made them better. It was impossible not to feel her light or share her laughter. Her selfless giving took on many forms throughout her life, as she was everyone’s “person.” Sharon enjoyed going on hikes, watching football, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and friends. Her proudest achievements in life were being a caring Mom and a loving Wife.
Sharon filled her life with love. She pursued her passions with the steady and sure pace of a turtle: at times this meant running distance races like a turtle, and at other times it meant spending time in the ocean like a sea turtle, snorkeling and swimming with her family.
In the end, Sharon was surrounded by love. She shared her crinkly-eyed smile and was hand in hand with her loved ones. After passing, Sharon joined her father Thomas Andrew Guertin and her son Alan Stephen Fessler. Her light still shines through her husband Bryon Fessler, her son Henry Fessler, her daughter Megan Fessler, the beloved family cat Max, her mother Elizabeth Guertin, her siblings, and all her family and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life for Sharon will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Allnutt Funeral Service Drake Chapel with a sharing of memories and beers to follow at Gilded Goat Brewery at 2:00 pm. In celebration of Sharon’s colorful life, please wear colorful attire. In lieu of flowers, celebration contributions can be made as a donation to the SEE Turtles Nonprofit Organization (https://www.seeturtles.org/donations) in her honor.
