It is with profound sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Teresa Pineda on July 27, 2024 at the age of 64. She was a devoted wife, a beloved mother, sister and friend, known for her unwavering faith, kindness, and generosity.
Teresa was born on March 19, 1960 in Utah to Jay and Alice Nelson. They moved to Colorado for a short time then to Cambridge, Nebraska where Teresa and her four siblings, Brad, Barb, Tami and Allen, grew up. Teresa then moved to Colorado in 1978 where she met her husband, John A. Pineda. They married in 1987.
Her belief in Christ was the cornerstone of her life, and she shared this faith with everyone she met. She was a living example of the virtues of kindness, patience and humility. One of her favorite verses, Isaiah 40:31, was a reflection of her own strength and resilience. It reads: “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint”.
Though she is no longer with us, Teresa’s spirit will live on in the hearts if those who loved her. As 2 Timothy 4:7 says, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have kept the faith.” She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Teresa is survived by her beloved husband, John A. Pineda; two children, Amanda and John Brian; siblings, Barb Peluso and her husband, Frank; Brad Nelson and his wife Celia; Tami Harpts and her husband, Mark; and Allen Nelson; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Teresa was predeceased by dad, Jay Nelson; mom, Alice and step-dad, Joe Edwards.
A Celebration of Teresa’s life will be held on August 12, 2024 at 1pm at Resthaven Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to share their memories and pay their respects.
