

Christopher Thomas John Compton Christopher, loving son and brother went to be with the Lord on April 26, 2011. He died with his mother and father at his side with his brother Andrew on speakerphone. His family wishes you could have met this wonderful young loving man who was quiet and well liked and loved by everyone who knew him, but these words will have to do and they will not do him justice. Chris was born in Fullerton, CA on 12/28/1981. He attended Fern Dr. elementary, Parks Junior High and chose to attend Troy High School. Chris was a member of the cross country team and graduated with the class of 2000. He earned his Eagle Scout from Troop 93 in Fullerton. Chris enlisted in the US Navy, spending several years in training and the remainder as an electrician on the USS Eisenhower. During these military years Chris lived with Maria Lowel and her daughters who soon became Christophers second family. After receiving an honorable discharge for his 6 years of duty, Chris attended Fullerton College and Cal State University, Long Beach. Chris had a can-do personality, never complaining about the jobs he was assigned. He lost a long fight with pneumonia, a recurring condition since birth. Chris is survived by his mother, Diane; father, John; and his younger brother Andrew and wife Laura Beth Compton of OH. Also survived by Aunt Maxine Richardson of Riverside, Uncle Terry Harlow and wife Sue of England, Grandfather Albert Anton Bugler of MI, Grandmother Marlene Barger (estranged) of WI, Aunt Cathy Hess of AZ, Great Aunt Joan Michalek of WI, Great Uncle Jerry and his wife Deloris Biel of WI, Great Great Aunt Lil Bero of WI, Great Great Aunt Francis Hess of WI and hundreds of cousins and friends including the Long Beach Veteran Club. Chris is preceded in death by his Grandfather Dale Altus Compton, Grandmother Betty May Compton, Aunt Wilma Sully Compton Jury, and Uncle William Richardson and his Godmother Deloris Barfknecht. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:00am at the Blessed Sacrament Episcopal Church, 1314 N. Angelina Dr., Placentia, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Christopher Compton fund for Disabled Students Veterans or Quilt Foundation Blocks for the Brave, make checks out to Cathy Dolan and please place Blocks for the Brave in your memo of your check. Please mail checks to 433 N. King. Fullerton, CA 92833. Christophers ashes will be interned at the Riverside National Cemetery in a private ceremony in Riverside, CA at a later date.
