
David was born in Smeltertown, Texas, to Telesforo and Sara Gonzales on September 16, 1952. He attended Fullerton Union High and graduated class of 1972. He worked as a
Custodial Supervisor for the Fullerton Union High School District for over 30 years. He started his career at La Sierra High School, then moved to Troy High School, where he spent most of his time. He also worked at Fullerton High, before retiring.
David was very active with the Fullerton Little League, where he was known for his BBQ skills.
He also volunteered as a coach for his nieces Softball teams. David’s favorite activities were
holding barbecue get togethers for his family and friends, watching the Dodgers and after retiring he enjoyed golfing, twice a week.
David is preceded in death by his daughter, Sara, his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
David is survived by his wife, Sylvia , his son, Matthew, his brother, Raul Gonzales, his sisters,
Anita Vejar, Emma Menking, and Yolanda Garcia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who adored him.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the staff at St. Jude Hospital, Fullerton, Ca.,
especially the staff on the Fifth Floor-North, the Hospice nurses and Zac from McAulay & Wallace.
To honor David a Memorial Celebration will be held at McAulay and Wallace Mortuary, Fullerton, Ca., on April 19, 2025 from 2:00 -4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family does ask to please consider making a memorial donation to the American Cancer Society instead.
