David John Hirn

In Loving memory of David John Hirn, born October 2, 1920 in New York City. David passed at 97 on to his Lord and Savior Jesus August 19, 2018 in St Jude Hospital Fullerton. Pre-deceased by his wife Jessie Hirn and Grandson David Clements. He was a Loving Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Uncle and Brother. He will be greatly missed for many reasons. His humor and great jokes and riddles will be cherished always. He lived each day with dignity and kindness.  Dave and his wife Jessie moved from Pompton Plains NJ in 1981 where they settled into California life in Placentia. Dave was the Warehouse Supervisor for Pacific Western Sales in Brea for 10 years. After that he worked for Birch Hills Golf Course for 10 years as a Marshall. After retiring from that job, he lived with his son, Fred, and wife Michelle in Tustin for 13 years before moving to Nohl Ranch Inn in Anaheim Hills for 4 years. After a lengthy illness he was settled into Gordon Lane Care Home where he lived until his death. He passed at St Jude Hospice.  He was a WWII Veteran, serving in India as Master Sargent for 4 years during the war and was honorably discharged in 1944. After the war he was an Engineering Supervisor for Edwards Engineering in Pompton Plains, NJ. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus in New York and New Jersey and Vice President of his Union. His family includes his son Fred Hirn and wife Michelle Hirn, his daughter Lorraine Hirn Clements and son-in-law Thomas Clements, his 6 grandchildren, Tracy Hirn Neri, Randy Hirn, Jordan Hirn Dullenkopf, Kristine Clements Tidwell, Karlea Clements and David Clements (deceased) and 6 great grandchildren.  A private graveside memorial service and burial will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Dave’s memory to The St. Jude Hospice, Harbor Blvd. Fullerton CA.
