David L. Hodge of Orange, CA passed away at home on Feb. 18, 2022 at the age of 76 of Prostate Cancer. He will be sadly missed by his wife and best friend of 53 years, Janice (Jan), as well as his children, Stacy Hodge of Orange, CA and Michael (Jocelyn) Hodge of Murietta, CA. Dave was born in Torrance, CA on Sept. 5, 1945 and grew up in Redondo Beach, CA where he graduated from Aviation High School. He went on to attend California State University at Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. After many years working in the Insurance Defense field, he decided to obtain a Certificate in Legal Assistantship from University of California Irvine. He spent his last 15 years of employment as a Paralegal where he was able to put his love of research to good use. Dave loved the outdoors, his home and garden that he lovingly tended to, and travel. He had a passion for learning and after retirement, he spent a number of years attending classes at Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Cal State Fullerton. He was an avid reader and always had a book by his side. He and his brother-in-law, Bill, kept the post office busy sending books back and forth to share. He and Jan spent 30 days driving around France for their 50th wedding anniversary, which fulfilled a lifelong wish. Other highlights included a train tour through Switzerland, seeing Stonehenge in England, their yearly trips to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and time spent with the grandchildren watching them participate in sports and other activities. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by three grandchildren, Zach Hodge, Justeen Hodge and Molly Guerra, as well as a sister, Cyndy Horton. Arrangements are private.
