EN EL CUIDADO DE
McAulay and Wallace Mortuary
David Franz William Ramos, 65, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Julie, his wife of nearly 43 years, was at his side and he was also surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. David was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather, and he dearly loved gathering with his family and friends.
David was born on November 21, 1957 in Lynwood, California. He was the eldest of the six children born to parents David and Helen (Fuerbach) Ramos. Raised in Placentia, California, David attended high school at El Dorado. He enjoyed the social aspects of his high school years being active on the tennis team and honing his skills as an amateur photographer. He graduated in 1975 and immediately entered the workforce while juggling classes at Fullerton Community College. After working a few years at Ford Motor Company and in the steel rebar business, David really hit his stride when he began his career in lumber sales. His affable and gregarious personality was the perfect fit for his long and successful career in sales.
While David was rapidly developing his skills in the workforce, he took interest in a beautiful El Dorado classmate, Julie Vizenor. Julie was part of the class of 1976, and although they knew of each other in high school, they began dating in 1979. David, who was no stranger to large family gatherings, naturally fit into Julie’s family with Julie being one of nine siblings. The large Ramos and Vizenor clans would unite when David and Julie married on May 17, 1980. The two would set roots in Chino where they lived for 26 years and would raise their three children before eventually moving back to their hometown of Placentia in 2008.
David and the whole family would become active in the community as they got involved in local sports and school activities. David became a fixture at the baseball and softball fields where he could be seen working as a coach, preparing the fields as a volunteer, or just being a spectator. He made lifelong friends as a result and loved every minute of it. He was an avid sports fan and really enjoyed attending games in person supporting his alma mater Golden Hawks, as well as the USC Trojans or Oregon Ducks.
David’s trademark traits included his sarcastic sense of humor, his infectious laugh, his appreciation of music, and his ability to stay in touch with friends and family. “Pa,” as he was endearingly called by his grandkids, would constantly check-in, attend events and support anything that was going on with their activities. He would look forward to his daily afternoon phone calls from his brother-in-law, Tim, who has down’s syndrome, and they enjoyed a bond that mere words cannot describe.
He is survived by his beloved wife – Julie, their three children – Christopher, Janelle, and Katie, his six grandchildren –Dallin, Austin, Emma, Sofia, Jaxon, and Ava, his mother – Helen, and his five siblings - Veronica, Shirley, Paul, Jeanette, and Robert.
In lieu of flowers, the Ramos Family requests that donations be made in David’s name to the “Love Them All Foundation”, at https://urldefense.com/v3/__http://www.lovethemall.org__;!!M2D_dUfSiN4E!IwpUsu4ACuD_YV138lJMDBEKyCwxbC0PwrJN3iZGMgkQPDC_YIMkDzuutoLqTk7RXpZq4xKCBOA2C2K2gB6P2h7lJbIU9C5nJfY$ [lovethemall[.]org]. “The Love Them All Foundation” supports children and adults with special needs by improving their quality of life through its sports programs and social events.
